Overview
You can switch between the Comply, Host, and Portfolio plans at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately so you get access to additional features right away. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period so you keep your current plan's benefits until the cycle ends.
How it works
Upgrading to a higher plan
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Upgrade and select the plan you want (Host or Portfolio).
- Confirm the change. Stripe prorates the cost — you only pay the difference for the remaining days in your current billing cycle.
- The new plan's features and limits are available immediately.
Downgrading to a lower plan
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Click Switch plan and select the lower plan.
- If your account exceeds the new plan's limits (more properties active or more team members than allowed), Valzotra asks you to archive properties and remove team members until you are within the new plan's limits.
- All Property Packs are automatically removed when you downgrade from Portfolio.
- The downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You continue to have your current plan's access until then.
Mid-cycle proration
Stripe handles proration automatically. When you upgrade, you receive a credit for the unused portion of your current plan and are charged the prorated cost of the new plan for the remainder of the cycle. When you downgrade, you keep your current plan through the end of the period and the lower rate applies starting with the next cycle.
Limits & requirements
- You must be the account owner or an admin to change plans.
- Before downgrading, you must archive properties and remove team members that exceed the new plan's limits.
- Property Packs are removed automatically on downgrade from Portfolio. You cannot keep packs on the Host or Comply plan.
- Data in archived properties is preserved. You can unarchive them later if you upgrade again.
- Downgrade changes are not immediate — you retain your current plan's access until the billing period ends.
FAQ
Will I lose data if I downgrade? No. Downgrading does not delete any data. Properties that exceed the new plan's limit must be archived, but archived properties and all their records are preserved. You can unarchive them if you upgrade again later.
What happens to my Property Packs when I downgrade? All Property Packs are removed when you downgrade from Portfolio. If you upgrade back to Portfolio later, you need to re-add any packs you want.
Can I upgrade and downgrade multiple times? Yes. There is no restriction on how often you can change plans. Each change is prorated fairly by Stripe.
Do I get a refund when I downgrade? You are not issued a direct refund. Instead, you keep your current plan's access through the end of your billing period, and the lower rate begins on your next cycle.
