Overview

If a guest lost the email invite, or you used manual-link delivery and never sent an email, you can pull the active invite URL back up any time from the reservation's Guests panel. Recovery works for OTA-routed invites and for manual-link invites.

How it works

Where to find it

  1. Open the reservation.
  2. Click the Guests tab on the reservation.
  3. Find the guest's row. If the invite is still pending (they haven't accepted), you'll see a Recover link action.
  4. Click it. The URL is copied to your clipboard along with a suggested message.

When recovery is available

  • Email-delivered invites — recoverable until the invite is accepted or expired.
  • Manual-link invites — same; the original link is regenerated on demand if needed.
  • OTA-channel invites (Airbnb, VRBO, Booking.com via chat copy) — recoverable. The reservation flow gives you a shareable URL and a renderOtaChatInvite-formatted message you paste into the platform's chat.

Resend vs recover

  • Resend re-sends the invitation email to the same address. Use this when the guest didn't receive the original (spam folder, typo'd email address).
  • Recover copies the link to your clipboard so you can send it via any channel (SMS, WhatsApp, OTA chat). Use this when email isn't an option.

There's a 60-second cooldown on resend per invite. There's no cooldown on recover — pulling the URL is read-only.

Cancel and re-invite

If the original email address was wrong, cancel the invite and create a fresh one with the corrected email. Cancelled invites are kept in audit but can't be reactivated.

Limits and requirements

  • Plan: Recovery is included on every plan.
  • Expired invites: Default expiry is 14 days. Expired invites need to be recreated.
  • Accepted invites: Once accepted, there's no link to recover — the guest already has portal access. Reset their password instead if they've lost access.

FAQ

You can — the link doesn't change once issued, so an old email copy is still valid until expiry. Recovery is the affordance for when you don't have the email to look up.

The link is single-acceptance — first person to click and complete sign-in becomes that guest. If two people need access, create two separate invites.

Some flows let you skip the email send and just copy a shareable URL you'll deliver yourself (SMS, OTA chat, etc.). Recovery returns the same URL.

Does recovery work for cancelled invites?

No. Cancelled invites are dead — create a fresh one instead.

The guest accepted from a different email — what happened?

If you sent the link via SMS or OTA chat (not email), the guest signed in with whatever email they had on file. The guest record is now tied to that account. To re-bind to a different email, the guest changes their account email in profile settings.
