Overview
You can request permanent deletion of your Valzotra account from the Settings page. Deletion disables your account immediately and permanently removes your personal data after a 30-day grace period. This action cannot be undone once the grace period expires.
How it works
- Navigate to Settings > Privacy.
- Click Delete My Account.
- A confirmation dialog explains what will happen: your account will be disabled immediately, and after a 30-day grace period, all personal data will be permanently deleted.
- Confirm the deletion.
- You will see a confirmation message and be signed out automatically after a few seconds.
What happens immediately
- Your account is disabled. You can no longer log in.
- Your session is terminated and you are redirected to the login page.
- Team members in your organization are not affected -- they retain their own accounts and access.
During the 30-day grace period
- Your personal data remains in the system but your account is inactive.
- If you need to reverse the deletion during this period, contact support.
After the grace period
The following data is permanently removed:
- Your user profile (name, email, preferences)
- Your authentication credentials
- Your consent records
- Personal notification history
What is retained
Certain data is retained for compliance and operational continuity:
- Audit log entries you created (anonymized) -- these are part of the organization's compliance record.
- Checklist completion records -- timestamps and actions you performed are kept as part of the property management history, but your personal identifying information is removed.
- Organization data -- if you are the sole owner of an organization, you must transfer ownership or delete the organization before deleting your account. Properties, reservations, expenses, and other business records belong to the organization, not to your personal account.
Effect on active subscriptions
- If you are the billing owner (the person whose payment method is on file), deleting your account cancels the subscription at the end of the current billing period.
- You should cancel your subscription before deleting your account to avoid any unexpected charges. See Canceling Your Plan for details.
- If another team member is the billing owner, your deletion does not affect the subscription.
Limits & requirements
- Account deletion is initiated from Settings > Privacy, not from the profile page.
- You must confirm the deletion in a dialog before it proceeds.
- If you are the sole owner of an organization, you must either transfer ownership to another admin or delete the organization first.
- The 30-day grace period starts from the moment you confirm deletion.
- After the grace period, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
- You cannot create a new account with the same email address until the deletion is fully processed.
FAQ
Can I undo account deletion? During the 30-day grace period, contact support to reverse the deletion. After the grace period, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
What happens to my organization if I delete my account? If you are the sole owner, you must transfer ownership or delete the organization before deleting your account. If there are other owners or admins, the organization continues to operate normally without your account.
Will I be charged after deleting my account? If you have an active subscription and do not cancel it before deletion, the subscription runs until the end of the current billing period. No further charges occur after that. Cancel your subscription first to avoid any overlap.
Can I download my data before deleting? Yes. Go to Settings > Privacy and click Download My Data before requesting deletion. This gives you a copy of your records.
What happens to team members I invited? Team members retain their own accounts and access to the organization. Only your personal account is affected by the deletion.
