Overview
Connecting a bank or credit card account links it to a specific property in ArrivHQ. Once connected, transactions from that account are automatically imported for review. The connection is made through Plaid, a secure financial data platform trusted by thousands of apps and banks.

How it works
Before you connect
You need two things:
- A property already created in ArrivHQ (the account will be linked to it)
- Your bank login credentials (entered directly into Plaid's secure widget -- ArrivHQ never sees them)
Step-by-step
- Go to Compliance > Banking in the sidebar.
- Click + Connect Account.
- If you have more than one property, select the property this account will be linked to.
- Check the consent box to authorize ArrivHQ to access and store your transaction data.
- Click Connect Bank Account. Plaid's secure widget opens.
- Search for your bank or credit union in the Plaid widget.
- Enter your bank login credentials directly in the Plaid widget.
- Select which accounts you want to connect (checking, savings, credit card).
- Complete the connection. ArrivHQ begins importing your transaction history.
After connecting, you are redirected to the connected accounts page where you can see the sync status.
What data is accessed
When you connect an account, ArrivHQ receives:
- Transaction history (up to 24 months) -- date, amount, merchant name, category
- Account information -- institution name, account type, last 4 digits of account number
- No login credentials, account numbers, routing numbers, or balances
Consent and privacy
Before connecting, you must grant two consents:
- Data access -- allows ArrivHQ to fetch transactions through Plaid
- Data storage -- allows ArrivHQ to store and process transaction data
Both consents are recorded with your IP address and timestamp. You can revoke either consent at any time from Settings > Privacy. Revoking data access immediately disconnects all linked accounts.

Limits & requirements
- Requires the Host plan ($34/mo) or higher.
- Up to 3 accounts per property. If you need more, contact support.
- Each account is linked to one property. You can change the property assignment later from the connected accounts page.
- Plaid supports most U.S. banks and credit unions. If your institution is not listed, it may not be available through Plaid at this time.
- A stable internet connection is required during the Plaid widget flow.
FAQ
Can I connect the same bank account to multiple properties?
No. Each account is linked to one property. If a single account covers multiple properties, connect it to the primary one and reassign individual transactions during the review process.
What if my bank is not listed in Plaid?
Plaid supports thousands of U.S. financial institutions, but not all. If your bank is not available, you can continue entering transactions manually or via AI receipt scanning.
Is my bank password stored by ArrivHQ?
No. Your credentials are entered directly into Plaid's secure widget. ArrivHQ never receives, sees, or stores your bank login information.
Can team members connect bank accounts?
Only property owners and admins can connect bank accounts. Team members with the manager role can view connected accounts and review imported transactions.
What happens after I connect?
ArrivHQ immediately begins importing your transaction history. Depending on the account, this can include up to 24 months of transactions. The initial sync typically completes within a few seconds. New transactions sync periodically after that.
